Bent-TV
was formed in 1993 when a group of people became dissatisfied with the lack of,
and unrealistic, portrayal of queer characters on television and in the wider
media in general. They got together to do something about it and Bent-TV was
born. Since then we have continued to grow and establish ourselves as the
primary Queer television group representing the Queer community.
All material
broadcast on Bent-TV is produced by volunteers. While the content of our
programming is accessible by the wider community our focus is always the
people, groups and issues of the Queer community
We are a
non-profit, volunteer based, organisation. We rely on monies received from
memberships, donations, fund raising events and sponsorship to fund our
activities.
Our aim is
to produce quality television programming that is of interest to, and relevant
to, the Queer community.
Our program
offerings are both informative and entertaining. Our programming reflects the
wide diversity of groups and issues within the community.
