Bent Tv was founded in 1993 when a group of people recognised there was a lack of and an unrealistic, portrayal of GLBTIQ characters on television and in general, the wider media. Since Bent Tv’s conception, the non-profit community organisation has continued to grow and establish itself as the primary Gay and Lesbian television group representing the GLBTIQ community

All material broadcast on Bent TV is produced by volunteers. While the content of programming is accessible by the wider community Bent TV’s focus is around the people, groups and issues representing the GLBTIQ community

Bent TV is a non-profit, volunteer based, organisation relying on monies received from memberships, donations, sponsorship and fundraising events to run on daily basis. Bent TV’s aim is to produce quality television programming that is of interest to, and relevant to, the GLBTIQ community

Bent TV’s programming offers both an informative and entertaining platform, reflecting the wide diversity of groups and issues within the GLBTIQ community
